Your Role

Working closely with the project management team and under the supervision of management, you will play an active role throughout the entire estimating process, from the initial tender analysis to the submission of bids.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting in-depth analysis of plans, specifications, addenda, and technical documents to fully understand project scope, requirements, and constraints
• Performing quantity take-offs and evaluating costs related to materials, labour, equipment, and subcontracting
• Assisting in the preparation of preliminary and detailed cost estimates, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data
• Supporting the full tendering process, including document analysis, bid preparation, recommendations, and participation in discussions with stakeholders
• Collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain, compare, and analyze pricing while helping build long-term relationships
• Contributing to cost tracking, variance analysis, and the preparation of estimating reports
• Working closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure alignment between estimates and project execution
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of estimating methods, tools, and databases
• Supporting the team with any other tasks related to estimating and project preparation

Candidate Profile

• Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in Civil Engineering, AEC in Estimation, or equivalent training (Bachelor’s degree an asset)
• 1 to 3 years of experience in estimating and/or civil construction, or a relevant internship
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with estimating software
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Bilingual in French and English – an asset
