President's Message

Welcome to the Cree Construction and Development Company Ltd - CCDC. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have contributed to the success of this organization. It is with great honour that I address you as the President of CCDC. Ever since CCDC was founded in 1976, it remains a 100% Cree owned company and our goal of developing the Cree community and economic infrastructure has remained the same. 45-60 % of our employees are Cree and we take pride in having achieved so much in the last 33 years. CCDC has become one of the largest and most successful construction companies in Québec and was the first native entity to obtain ISO certification in Canada. Being ISO 9001 certified has brought a new level of quality to our work. Our team of project managers, engineers, technicians, procurement specialists, administrative and support staff are proud to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Our technical expertise in civil engineering, building works, construction management, airport services, road maintenance, public works and in the environmental sector has led to the undertaking of numerous projects especially in remote and semi-remote areas. We also offer the following services: consulting, preliminary studies, engineering, call for tenders, site surveillance, project management and turnkey projects. Schools, infrastructure, airports, daycares and police stations are just a few of the projects that CCDC has undertaken to benefit the Cree community. CCDC also has an extensive equipment fleet. We believe that diversification is the key to success and the partnerships we have formed have allowed us to achieve a broadening of skills which have enabled us to take on many different types of projects in Ontario, Québec, and Manitoba.

Our contracts with Hydro Québec have shown that this company is capable of taking on all types of infrastructure projects. With 850 workers at its peak construction period, CCDC has become a major employer for the native community; at the Eastmain-1 site, CCDC alone accounted for 96% of hours worked by Cree employees. At CCDC, our adapted training and coaching programs provides our Cree employees a chance to grow within the company. I see a bright future for CCDC and the Cree community and I sincerely hope that our efforts continue to provide employment opportunities for the younger generation.
